ある月夜の帰り道、薄暗い駐車場の前を歩いてたら、その奥のほうで何かが月の光を映してぼんやり輝いているのに気がついた。
One night, with the moon high in the sky, I was on my way home and about to pass a poorly illuminated parking lot, when I noticed something glowing in the moonlight at the far end of the lot.
ちらっと目を向けると、それは頭が異様に大きな猫のように見える。あんまり頭が大きいので自分の目を疑うと同時に、少し恐怖も感じた。
At a glance, it appeared to be a white cat with an unusually large head. The head was so big that I couldn't believe my eyes and became a bit frightened.
でも、恐怖心よりも好奇心が勝（まさ）って、もっとよく見ようと思い、その生き物に襲われるシーンを想像しながら慎重に近づく。
But curiosity got the better of me, and I cautiously walked toward it to take a closer look, imagining being attacked by that creature.
で、それは結局、ただのボロボロのレジ袋だった。安心したけど、少しがっかりもした。
Well, it turned out to be just a tattered plastic bag. I felt relieved, though a bit disappointed.

これは、英作文の練習として何年も前に書いた英文です。日常のちょっとしたことを英語で書くのが好きでした。今も好きです。
I wrote this to practice English composition many years ago. I liked, and still do like, writing little things in everyday life in English.
読んでくれる人にはなんの役にも立たないことはわかってます。お邪魔する他の同様のブログも、似たようなものだとは思います。
I know those things are not useful for anyone who visits my blog and reads my posts. I think it's much the same as when I visit someone else’s blog similar to mine.
でも、そんなブログを見るのが好きです。経験したことや、考えや日常のことをシェアしてくれるブログ。そんな投稿を読んでると、何か、少しほっこりと感じます。
But I like to visit those blogs where the owner shares their personal experiences, thoughts, and everyday life with their readers. Reading such posts somehow makes me feel a little warm inside.
もちろん、そうした、いわゆるパーソナルブログとかライフスタイルブログだけでなく、興味のあることや、知りたいと思っている実用的な内容のあるブログを見るのも好きです。
Of course, besides the so-called “personal blog” or “lifestyle blog,” I also like visiting blogs that have articles about what I’m interested in and practical information I want to get.
