コアジサシの季節がやってきました。現在、コアジサシは海岸線や河川で見られます。コアジサシは季節の渡り鳥で、春にやって来て秋に去っていきます。ヒヨドリぐらいの大きさで、細くて長い翼、長めの嘴をしています。高速で飛行し、海にダイブして獲物を捕ります。
The season for little terns has come. They can currently be seen along Japan's coastlines and rivers. They are migratory birds that arrive in spring and leave in fall. They are about the size of bulbuls, with slender, long wings and slightly long beak, flying fast and diving into the sea to catch their prey.

コアジサシはお気に入りの鳥さんで、たくさん写真を撮ってます。そのいくつかを投稿しようと思いますが、お気に入りの写真が多くて選ぶのが簡単ではありません。今日は、小魚を探しながら海上を飛んでいるところ、カップルの求愛給餌、そしてネット上ではあまり見られないかもしれない写真をアップします。
Little terns are my favorite birds, and I have taken many photos of them. I plan to upload some, but choosing which ones to share is not easy because I have so many favorites. Today, I’ll post some photos showing little terns flying over the sea searching for small fish, the courtship feeding between a male and a female, and some that you might not typically find online.

コアジサシがホバリングして海にダイビングするところや、ちょっとトホホな場面の写真（雌に振られる雄など）を後日投稿します。
I'll post photos of little terns hovering, diving into the sea, plus some funny, pathetic moments of them (a male being rejected by a female, etc.) later.
あ、大事なことを忘れてました。コアジサシは環境省によって絶滅危惧II類（VU）に指定されています。川原、砂浜、埋立地に巣を作るので、そういうところに無造作に踏み入るとコアジサシの繁殖を妨害することになるかもしれません。ただ、Wikipediaによれば、繁殖地はすごく限られているようですが。
Oh, I forgot the important thing: little terns are designated as Endangered II (VU) by the Ministry of the Environment. They build their nests at riversides, sand beaches, and landfills, so entering those places casually may disturb their breeding. According to Wikipedia, however, their breeding places are very limited.
