昨晩、おかしな夢を見た。自分は大学生で学期も終わろうとしているのに卒業単位が足りないことに気がつく。取った単位を必死になって計算し直したが何もかわらない。
I had a strange dream last night. I was a college student, and towards the end of the semester, I noticed that I didn't have enough credits to graduate. I frantically recalculated the credits I had earned, but in vain.
ここで目が覚めた。「よかった、夢だった」ぼそぼそつぶやく。が、安心したのも束の間、現実の仕事上の問題があるのを思い出す。そのどれも簡単に解決できそうにない。ため息をつきながら寝返りをうつと、
Then I woke up. "Thank goodness it was a dream," I murmured to myself. However, my relief quickly disappeared, because I remembered that I had some real problems with my job, none of which seemed easy to solve. I sighed and rolled over.
そこでふたたび目が覚めた。夢の中で夢を見ていた。ほっとして ため息をつく。と、そこでまたまた思い出した。やっぱり対処すべき問題がある。今度こそ現実の問題だ！
Then I woke up again. I had had a dream within a dream. I sighed, relieved, and then AGAIN remembered that I still had some problems to deal with. This time, real ones!
そこで思った。もう一度目が覚めないかな、そして目の覚めたところがトラブルフリーの世界だったらいいのに。
I wished I could wake up one more time and find myself in a world without problems.
